Why Do I Need a Permit
Park Entry Permit Application Methods for ForeignVisitors

Standard Application: 7 days to 2 months before ascent date

1. Deadline for attending a drawing: 1 to 2 months before ascent date

2. Time of drawing: the drawing for bed/tent space will be held 1 month before ascent date at 3 pm GMT+8.(Drawings scheduled on weekends, holidays will be held on the day after weekends and holidays. )

3. If the amount of applicants does not exceed the daily maximum capacity after the drawing, it is available to apply at least 7 days before the climbing date. The vacancies will be filled in application time order. Application within 7 days will not be accepted.

4. It takes approximately 5 workdays to process each application, not includes holiday and the time that applicants pay Paiyun Lodge fee or applicants under 20 years old send a parental/guardian permission. Please pay Paiyun Lodge fee and send the parental/guardian permission within 10 days after the drawing, or the application will be dismissed.

5. Every campsite has its daily maximum capacity. If the result of the drawing is “Being on A Waiting List” will have the priority to get the bed/tent space once the team having bed/tent spaces cancel their application, following the order of Being on A Waiting List1, 2, and then 3. The team being on a waiting list can register application for other days and wait for vacancies. When the vacancies are less than the number of applicants on waiting list, the team can choose to cut down the number of applicants or cancel this application.

排雲山莊 Fee
  1. There is no charge for park entry permit.
  2. Paiyun Lodge fee: In accordance with "Fee-charging Standards for the Usage of Paiyun Lodge of Yushan National Park"
  3. Charging methods
    (1) Business check of Chunghwa Post. Postal mail to (No. 515, Sec. 1, JhongShan Rd., Shueili Township, Nantou County 55344, Taiwan) titled with park entry application.
    (2) Cash (NT dollars), Payment in Paiyun Visitor Center or Park Entry Service Unit

Mountain Entry Permit Applying Methods:
  Almost every hiking route in Yushan National Park is within ecological protected areas and mountain control area. Therefore, other than park entry permit, it is also required to apply a mountain entry permit according to National Security Law.
  1. Online Application: National Police Agency http://eli.npa.gov.tw/E7WebO/index02.jsp
  2. On-site Application:
    (1) Please apply to local police stations close to trail entrance or National Park Police Crop and squad.
    (2) Required documents:
      Mountain entry permit application form
      3 copies of name list for mountain entry permit, including passport number, date of birth, address, etc
      3 copies of route map and hiking plan. Please include your itinerary, equipment, and emergency contact or simply apply with park entry permit application form or park entry permit.
